Computer Support Technician

Definition:

Responsible for the regular maintenance and upkeep of hardware and software on Recreation & Wellness computers.

Duties:

Diagnosis and repairs or subcontracts repair of Student Recreation & Wellness Center equipment.
Installs and configures operating environments and shells, including Windows XP, Mac OS, etc...
Installs software and hardware upgrades on PCs and Macs
Attends training sessions and provides training for staff and students on
system/hardware/software operation.
Maintains lists of vendors, parts and prices to assist inventory, warranty and procurement
functions.
Makes recommendations for computer/software upgrades and Capital Equipment.
Complete minor updates to the web-page as requested.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: Must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) units at California State University, San
Bernardino and maintain a quarterly and cumulative G.P.A. above 2.0.
Experience:
Ability to assume responsibility for coordinating service-oriented computer support, meet user
needs and solve usage problems.
Advanced PC experience necessary, including technical computer diagnosis, repair and
maintenance. Some mac experience desirable.
 
Current PC office productivity software knowledge, including Microsoft product knowledge.
Web-page construction experience desirable, including working knowledge of HTML, PHP,
Adobe Dreamweaver, Flash and other web-page management software.
Dedication to provide superior customer service.
Ability to work independently without close supervision.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with co-workers and clients.
Willingness to work with a culturally diverse student population, staff and guests.
Certifications a plus. (A+, CNS, etc.)

Compensation:

$8.50 - $14.00 per hour
